Grant Woods Canoe Launch

Grant Woods Canoe Launch is part of the Lake County Forest Preserve and offers free access to launch your own cartop boat, canoe, kayak, paddleboard, or other small non-motorized watercraft on four inland lakes: Sterling Lake at Van Patten Woods in Wadsworth, Long Lake at Grant Woods in Ingleside, Hastings Lake in Lake Villa, and Lake Carina in Gurnee. Launching is free and at your own risk, with approved flotation gear recommended. Electric trolling motors are allowed, and trailers are permitted at Van Patten Woods only, though parking is limited to the grass overflow area.
